From 1994 – 2001 we were owners/managers of multi award winning Chiltern Lodge Country Retreat at Old Bar on the N.S.W. North Coast – website www.chilternlodge.com.au
During this time we were recipients of 18 Awards for Excellence in Business, Accommodation and Tourism.
Our hands-on management of Chiltern Lodge included the initial planning stages through to our opening day on 3 October, 1994 with responsibility for the design, building, furnishing and marketing. We were owner/managers for 7 years up until 29 November, 2001 when we sold our property to establish our relief management business “Time Out Professionals...the t.o.p. team”.
Prior to entering the Tourism Industry, we travelled extensively both within Australia and overseas experiencing many tourism products and we recognise that business success in the hospitality industry is dependent upon consumer satisfaction through quality in presentation, cleanliness and service. As a result of the exceptional level of hospitality we offered to our own guests, we enjoyed a high percentage of personal recommendations and repeat business.
Gary, an electrician by trade and handyman by nature, has 18 years experience as a scout and cub leader and has an amazing rapport with children. His main role in our business was that of Maintenance Manager looking after the grounds, animals, pool, spa and recreation facilities and providing assistance in the office with telephone bookings, check-ins, stock control and also conducting mountain bike adventure tours. Gary is also qualified to complete electrical testing and tagging which is now an O.H.S. requirement for all businesses.
